Piecing together.......

 Started piecing together all the work today for the Textile Mural..................Just to see what it would look like ...

 It looks good ..........

 I love it ......they did so brilliantly ............

There are 120 of these amazing postcards .....................

Hand sewing with Yr 2.........

 Hand sewing this time with Yr 2 class. They are making sections of the middle part of the mural. It will be a big diamond. It was their own idea to include this in the mural as I wanted them to have an input into the design.

 First they made the backgrounds

 Then seeding and cross stitch

 Gorgeous all together

 Next the 'shadow ' part of the diamond ........purples ......

Union Jacks made with yr 2 children and all 120 used my trusty Singer to sew the diagonals ............

Fabric postcard backgrounds made with the Yr 1 s from Court Lane Primary. Each child operated the foot pedal of the electric sewing machine to sew a length along their postcard (all 120 of them). backgrounds complete ....on to decorate tomorrow .......

Artist in Residence

Working with Yr R at Court Lane Primary School. We are creating a Textile Mural with the theme of the Diamond Jubilee. The Children created fabric collage flowers which will be the border of the mural. They also monoprinted butterflies.
